Turističko - ugostiteljska škola Split

 

Tourism and Catering School in Split  was founded on 1st September 1960. We provide education and training to approximately 760 Culinarv Arts and Tourism students in different programmes: front desk clerks, food and beverage managers, waiters, cooks, pastry chefs and kitchen porters (students with learning problems) as well as  countiniuing education and corporate training for adults in the field of tourism and hospitality industry.

 

 

Tourism and Catering school in Split is the first school in Croatia which has become the member of AEHT (European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools). Accompaning  teachers and students participate in various competitions, congresses, seminars and visits all over Europe. We collaborate with schools from Austria, Italy, France, Slovenia, Macedonia, etc. Our students have won numerous prizes, medals and diplomas at competitions.

The school has participated successfully in 3 mobility programmes in the framework of COMENIUS ( Portfolio 2011.- Greece) , COMENIUS (B.Well with 5 partner schools 2013.-2015.) and Erasmus + ( UNESCO Heritage with 6 school partners 2014.-2016.).                                                         

Also this year we participate in KA2 project 'Flavours of the region' ', together with Poland and Italy. The project will end in 2018. The school also successfully finish one KA1 project ‘Spice up your life’ in Italy - Bologna where our students (30 students) attend practice for a period of 21 days.

Besides that, schol cooperates with the Tourismusschulen from Semmering, Austria in the project called  „ Croatian dinner in Semmering“ and „Austrian dinner in Split“. This cooperation is a good way to promote the tourist offer of both countries in the field enogastronomy.

For the past several years our students have won a number of best results in national and international Gastro competitions which resulted in positioning our school among the top tourism and catering schools in Croatia (Presentation of tourist destinations, Front office, bar discipline, wine presentation and menu serving ) .Tourism and catering school in Split has participated in various professional fairs for a long period of time such as Interstas (International tourist, tourfilm and landscape festival, were  our school was awarded the Golden Interstas prize for a long and successful cooperation with the fair and the prize for the best short amateur film „A Stroll with Diocletian“);  Gast – the fair of catering and hotel equipment, a manifestation called Christmas in Europe which took place in Zagreb where we showed traditional ways of celebrating Christmas in Split, Dalmatia;  the county high school food and  bar presentation on the island of Vis;  the culinary festival the Pearl of the Sea; the, EuroSkills competition in Lion, France 2014;  and many other manifestations.

Our school is a tourist-catering school and thus is focused on continuously developing relationships with other schools and potential partners in order to ensure wider and various  development according to the settings of projects and goals.

Colegiul economic dimitrie cantemir

Economic College "Dimitrie Cantemir" Suceava is a vocational school with a long tradition in teaching economic education (the college was founded in 1966). It provides specialized training in the field of services: technician in economic activities, technician in tourism, technician in administration, technician in gastronomy, technician in commerce activities, mathematics – computer science, human aesthetics and hygiene. Starting with the school year 2005/2006, the tourism specialization has classes of intensive English teaching.

Economic College "Dimitrie Cantemir" Suceava is a vocational school with a long tradition in teaching economic education (the college was founded in 1966). This school year, our college educates around 1.600 students, taught by 81 teachers who show an increased interest for continuous improvement training: sitting didactic level exams, attending training courses in Europe, participating in international symposiums. .

The school is situated in a socio-economic disadvantaged area. More than 60% of the students commute to school from the county’s villages. The students come from a various numbers of religions. The level of literacy is generally low, especially among students majoring in tourism and gastronomy, which affects school results. IOur school has more than 300 students majoring in tourism and gastronomy.  9 teachers of these speciality subjects and 7 teachers of English.

The Economic College "Dimitrie Cantemir" Suceava is the leader for economic and speciality training at European level in Suceava, representing an attraction point for our county’s school population due to the perspectives it offers. The college has an elaborated infrastructure for teaching speciality subjects (two training firms and two public alimentation laboratories equipped at European standards, a Junior travel agency and a shop used for training purposes). Furthermore, the college has connections with the local economic environment, which ensure the practical training for the following fields: economic, tourism, public alimentation, administration.

Starting from 2003, a variety of activities designed to bring a European dimension to our college have been performed: Comenius, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig and Youth in Action projects, Spring Day, eTwinning, Erasmus plus and so on. These activities involved students, teachers, parents, local comunity representatives and they opened the path to an education for European values, communication in a foreign language, using ICT. Because of the activities performed at European level, through the approved educational projects, The Economic College "Dimitrie Cantemir" Suceava gained the title “European School” in 2011 and 2015, with remarkable progresses made in the quality of teaching and learning and a constant improvement in school results.

Currently, on an international level, the college maintains partnership relations with state and private pre-universitary and universitary unities from Denmark, Spain, Cyprus, Austria, Portugal, Turkey, Italy under the frame of the Erasmus plus program of the European Union, and also through other types of educational activities.

Halide Nusret Zorlutuna Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi

Halide Nusret Zorlutuna Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi was established in 1991 in Talas,Kayseri. It is situated in the Central Anatolia. Very close to Erciyes Mountain  and Cappadocia. Population over one million and metropolitan city. So many factories and shopping centers available. Industry, sports, tourism and trade are main incomes  for the people. Education  also takes  an important role in Kayseri too. Vocational Education provides Qualifying workers fo the market. Our school is the one of them  aiming of education  at high standards of quality regarding vocational area. In our school; Only girls aged 14-18 years old get education at three departments; Hair dressing,Nursery and Food and beverages sevices. There are almost 450 pupils and 42 teachers at our school. 5 administrators, 1 advisors,1 clerk and 2 servants work at shool. At our school 13 classes, , 1 Practising  hairdressing class ,1 practising nursery class and 2 Practising Food and Beverages classes.

Our school has two shifts due to the mass students and limited classes. Besides our school open at the weekends for the pupils continueing  education after school drops. It is called Open Vocational High school. The wireless internet is available at our school,thus teachers and students are allowed to use the benefits of technology and information. In all classes Interactive White boards are available. Therefore it is easy to reach both audio and visual materials. Our school open to new implemetations at vocational school education and try to wide horizons.

Esprominho – Escola Profissional do Minho

Esprominho – Escola Profissional do Minho, is a private vocational training school that has initiated its activity in 1999 but which has over 20 years of experience in providing vocational education and training. It provides level II and IV vocational training courses equivalent to the 9th and 12th grade; education and training courses adults with academic equivalence to basic and secondary levels, and finally, training courses and professional development for active people.

EsproMinho is located in the two cities that are district capitals of the Minho Region: Braga and Viana do Castelo. About 800 youth and adults trainees are currently attending EsproMinho, spread over the different courses: fashion, Information Technology, tourism, beauty care, hairdressing, business or events management.

EsproMinho’s Educational Project is based on values such as professionalism, rigor, knowledge, entrepreneurship and leadership.

Nowadays the pedagogical practice is reinforced and the success of about 85% of graduates who enter the school and later enter labour market can be explained by the following factors:

5.1 A strong socio-cultural training, which reinforces the concept of active citizenship and in accordance with the structuring values of democracy and freedom. These are achieved through environmental education, education for health and social education.

  2. Open training / information sessions, developed by technicians and professionals from society and companies that regularly visit the school with the goal of sharing their knowledge and experiences;
  3. field trips and exchanges that allow trainees to meet business and social realities, so important to their development in these areas. Particularly in the case of national and international exchanges, cultural and social development is achieved through contact with other cultures, the interaction with other individuals of different culture and language etc. From the professional point of view, international initiatives are also developed which allow trainees to get internships in EU companies, contributing decisively to contact with other business, organization and procedures realities;
  4. participation and entrepreneurship promotion dynamics: the organization and implementation of formal and nonformal activities by the trainees; the Council of Delegates – a consultative body of the Educational Directorate, where delegates elected by the class present and represent the claims and suggestions from peers in order to allow the educative project’s configuration regarding the reality of the trainees, among others, necessities and expectations.

5.2 adequate scientific and technical training regarding the business reality of the region:

a) training by certified, competent and motivated professionals, and with their own business experience regarding technical, technological and practical training. This allows trainers to know exactly what the “market” expects of the learners and so can tailor their training for that level of know-how and demand;

b) training in a simulated work context, carried out in school, reinforcing the technical, technological and practical training, bringing scientific rigor of the training level of the practical tasks required of trainees;

c) training in a real work context, or work placement, which consists of training developed in companies where trainees are placed to perform the tasks that are required in terms of its referential training and employment.

6. consolidation of the educational project reaches full potential through two other realities which we consider to be indispensable to the process:

a) excellent physical and instrumental conditions. The school is based on the infrastructures that are appropriate for training and is equipped with all the resources needed to its dynamics;

b) continued educational orientation. This allows for the monitoring of the students in a training context and the accompaniment of the student whenever they are learning, integration, entry into the labour market or continuation with studies difficulties. In the case of students with learning difficulties, the richness of the project is rooted in the diversity of pedagogical strategies that can be moulded in the image of the student, allowing for the resolution of these problems. For this same purpose there’s the contribution of the study room and complement training where students can be integrated to complement their training and resolve their learning problems.

Istituto istruzione superiore Renato Guttuso Milazzo

Istituto istruzione superiore Renato Guttuso is located in Milazzo, a small town in the north-east of Sicily, close to Messina, which is the closest town to mainland Italy. Its registered name is: Istituto di Istruzione Superiore di Milazzo.

It’s quite a big school with 1009 students (aged 14-19) and 162 qualified teachers. There are seven different programmes aiming at both vocational and theoretical education.

The programme Hospitality, Hotel and Restaurant Services Management helps our students to  learn the concepts and techniques related to hotel and restaurant operations, food preparation and service, front and back office operations. The other programmes of our school: Landscape Architecture, Furniture Interior Design, Scenic Design, Graphics, Digital Design belong to the theoretical education of lyceum. Our students are encouraged to develop a passion for art and technique concerning drawing, visual communication, photography, art history, cinematography,  pottery and ceramic. Our students acquire and develop excellent computer, technological and communication skills which are necessary to enter the labour market and to cope with the business competition. The programme dealing with Graphic Ceramic, allow the students to create a pottery object kneading the clay, baking it in special ovens at very high temperatures, creating digital decorations using special software fit for the purpose and the decorating the previous objects with a skilful art of painting. Students learn every aspect of making pottery by hand,  first  thinking about an object, then  realizing it. After finishing the secondary school, the students who have chosen the art lyceum are skilled craftmen or women, good with their hands, but also with the computer, displaying excellent computer skills.

Epal Nafpaktoy

The school numbers 300 students and 50 teachers and offers specialties in various fields (ICTs, Health, Food technology, Economics and Management, Tourism, Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration Systems, Central Heating Systems – Technology of Petroleum and Natural Gas,  Electrical Engineering, Electronics). The school aims to provide a quality secondary education to young people and offer a wide range of curriculum opportunities within an environment dedicated to building self-esteem and life skills. We are open in new teaching methods, trying different strategies to make learning a pleasant procedure. As a school we are very active, and run several projects each year, in the fields of cultural heritage, environmental issues, carrier, health education, etc. The staff is also familiar with ICT tools and the school has active participation to eTwinning projects.
